LAS ESTATUAS DE LA PLAZA DE ORIENTE

Una misteriosa leyenda custodia la Plaza de Oriente y su Palacio Real. Reyes que protegen a reyes y su corte. Seguramente hayas paseado junto a esas estatuas sin saber el secreto que esconden ¿verdad?
¿Por qué están distribuidas todas estas estatuas de reyes en algunas partes de España, muchas de ellas en Madrid?
Sobre nuestra leyenda, existen algunas teorías (algunas más realistas que otras) sobre por qué éstas fueron posicionadas en esa plaza.
En cuanto a la primera teoría, se dice que las cornisas del Palacio Real fueron el primer sitio en el que pensaron para colocar las estatuas.
Finalmente, la hipótesis más interesante es la que tiene que ver con Isabel de Farnesio, la segunda esposa de Felipe IV. Si quieres saber cómo termina esta historia ve a ver nuestro vídeo.

A mysterious legend surrounds the Plaza de Oriente and its Royal Palace. Probably you have walked around this place and you have seen the statues located in this square without knowing the secret that they hide.
Why are all these statues of kings distributed in some places of Spain, many of them in Madrid?
Regarding our legend there are a few theories about why these statues have been placed in this square.
According to one theory, it is said that the cornices of the Royal Palace were the first place where the statues wanted to be placed.
However the most interesting hypothesis is the one of Isabel of Farnesio, the second wife of Felipe IV. If you want to know how this story ends, wacht our video.

Este vídeo lo hemos realizado durante una salida por la zona de Ópera y Palacio Real de Madrid. Hemos grabado un vídeo hablando sobre las leyendas de las estatuas de la Plaza de Oriente. Ha sido difícil realizarlo debido a que teniendo una cámara delante todo el rato nos ponía nerviosos, pero también tendremos la seguridad de que si fallábamos sabíamos que podíamos repetirlo múltiples veces más.

This video has been recorded during a trip in the area of Ópera and the Royal Palace of Madrid. We have recorded a video talking about the legends of the statues of the Plaza de Oriente. It has been difficult to perform because we had all the time a camera in front of us and we got nervous. However we knew that, in case we made any mistake, we could repeat the recording of the video many times. That made us feel more relaxed.
